LGBT Staff Network

The University of Leeds LGBT Staff Network exists to ensure that the views and concerns of LGBT staff are represented and considered at organisational level, and that their interests continue to form a part of the University’s wider equality and diversity agenda. It provides a safe, welcoming space and group for LGBT identifying staff – and colleagues, whatever their orientation, with an interest in LGBT equality to meet, socialise, and/or benefit from mutual support. Visit our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/LeedsLGBTcommunity and/or contact us through the details below to join the mailing list.

Any enquiries about the Network and its activities can be addressed to LGBT@leeds.ac.uk; the Network’s co-ordinators can also be contacted individually, as follows:

LGBT History Month – Academic Showcase Event

The LGBT Staff Network celebrated LGBT History Month with an Academic Showcase event.  Four colleagues from the University who are undertaking LGBT-related research presented short, accessible talks on their work, with questions, discussion, and networking in-between.  More details about this event can be found at: LGBT History Month 2017 Showcase Article

The LGBT Staff Network holds monthly informal drop-ins on the second Tuesday and final Wednesday of each month. The drop-ins provide Network members (or those potentially interested in joining/finding out more) an opportunity to meet up informally, outside of its more policy-focused meetings and/or larger social events. The next drop-ins will be held on the following dates:

Colleagues are welcome to bring their own lunch for the Wednesday lunch-time drop-ins.  Tea and coffee will be provided for the Tuesday afternoon drop-ins.  Colleagues are welcome to stay for as long or as short a time as they wish.
