You are warmly invited to the December Women at Leeds First Wednesday Club

Hosted by Women at Leeds, the network for all women at the University of Leeds

“The well planned career or a series of fortunate events?”

We are pleased to invite you to the December Women at Leeds First Wednesday Club, which will be an audience with Professor Pam Jones.

Pam is Professor of Biomedical Research and Pro Dean for Research & Innovation in the Faculty of Medicine & Health. She graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Biochemistry and a DPhil in Natural Sciences, then undertook two postdoctoral positions in Switzerland followed by a Senior Scientist position in the USA in the biotechnology sector. She returned to the UK to a Fellowship position in Leeds where she is now Professor of Biomedical Research in the Faculty of Medicine & Health.  Pam retains a strong interdisciplinary research interest focused around angiogenesis.

Pam will share her thoughts and insights about her career to date, and explore whether it was “well planned or a series of fortunate events”.

Time: 13:00 – 14:00
Venue: Liberty Building LT (LG.06)

The Women at Leeds network is a network run by staff and student volunteers. We are often limited by the size of venue available or the size of group a session facilitator is happy to manage. We are not always able to offer places to everyone who would wish to attend our events but we endeavour, as much as the network volunteers are able, to run events regularly and repeat popular topics when possible. We would like to remind everyone who books onto an event but then finds they cannot attend to contact the network as soon as possible to release their place, as most events have a waitlist and your place could be filled.
