Ruth Andrews - Disability Team Manager

I manage the Disability Team within the Equality Service.  This team includes Disability Co-ordinators who, in turn, co-ordinate academic support for disabled students. I am also involved in University-wide projects to input from a disability perspective, and I co-ordinate the projects and policy work which are being delivered within the Disability Team. Sheenagh Hull - Disability Co-ordinator

I work with Deaf and hard of hearing people, use sign language and am a qualified interpreter. I am responsible for the University’s note-taking scheme, providing trained Note-takers to assist students by taking handwritten or electronic notes during lectures, seminars and labs or wherever they are needed. Vibi Rothnie – Disability Co-ordinator & RNIB & University of Leeds Transcription Centre Manager

Harriet Cannon – Disability Co-ordinator

I work with students who have autism spectrum conditions, most commonly Asperger Syndrome.  I also oversee the admissions process for disabled applicants to the University. My telephone number is 0113 343 7538.

Liza Piney - Disability Co-ordinator

I co-ordinate support for students with mental health conditions. In practice, this means that I work alongside students and their respective departments to ensure that their continuing needs are supported. In addition to this role, I also manage the Personal Assistant Scheme. We recruit a team of support workers every year whose role it is to support students with a wide range of disabilities on a 1 to 1 basis to access their academic courses. Alyson Peacock – Disability Co-ordinator

My role is to co-ordinate academic related support for students with specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia.  I provide advice and guidance to students and staff working with those students. My telephone number is 0113 343 7983.

My role is to co-ordinate support for students with physical and mobility impairments, to ensure they have full and equal access to their course and University experience.  I am also the primary contact for all enquiries relating to the physical environment and our Estates Services.
